AIG Acknowledges CGC Determination

AIG acknowledges the General Insurance Code Governance Committee’s (CGC) determination 18-24-30242

AIG Australia acknowledges the determination 18-24-30242 of the General Insurance Code Governance Committee (CGC) regarding our complaints handling obligations under the General Insurance Code of Practice (the Code). This matter was self-reported by AIG and relates to delays in providing progress updates and making decisions on complaints.

In 2024, 1.6% of AIG Australia claims were referred to our complaints process. For these and for all our customers we remain fully committed to delivering timely and fair outcomes. We have implemented a remediation plan to comprehensively address the issue with increased resourcing, systems enhancements, and operational improvements. This plan is successfully improving our service levels, and we are working to restore full compliance with the Code as soon as possible.
